Jr. Production Artist, Creative Services / KN Karen Neuburger

KN Ltd, the licensing and marketing division of the KN Karen Neuburger brand, is seeking a full-time Production Artist to support our Creative Services Department at
our San Rafael-based office (15 min. drive from Golden Gate Bridge or 3 min. from Richmond/San Rafael Bridge). The successful candidate will report directly to the
Sr. Packaging Designer.

Summary: The Production Artist will be responsible for developing and maintaining digital files for a variety of packaging, collateral, advertising and promotional projects.
The Production Artist will support and assist the design team by creating and preparing digital files from design layouts.
Job Functions
• Prepare and build digital mechanical files, implement revisions, perform pre-flight for artwork release to vendors.
• Perform light re-touching of digital images including color adjustments, clipping paths, etc.
• Manage multiple projects and timelines for a diverse range of project types with conflicting deadlines.
• Ensure adherence to brand style guides for multiple clients.
• Maintain digital archive of all projects and images. Organize all images from photo shoots, update hard copy binders and digital files to ensure correct asset management.
• Adhere to file naming conventions, proofing and approval procedures, time management and file management standards.
• Communicate technical information to team members and clients as it relates to digital production and printing procedures.
• Build 3-d comps as necessary for presentations or approvals.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications
• 3+ years of prior and/or relevant digital production experience with in-house retail, agency or design studio.
• Solid mastery of Adobe Creative Suite 3 (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign & Acrobat).
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Powerpoint and Word).
• Attention to detail and ability to produce top-notch digital files.
• Self-directed, collaborative, responsible and resourceful.
• Ability to multi-task and troubleshoot in fast paced environment.
• Solid sense of design, layout and typography.
• Thorough understanding of pre-press & printing issues of collateral and packaging (hangtags, folding cartons, woven labels, etc.).
• Mac computer experience.
• A Bachelors degree in related field.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
